Finally, it’s Spring! Well not technically yet, but in Texas it might as well be. Although it did feel a bit like we stepped back into January this morning…I was caught all the way off guard. This Texas weather can be so misleading. Nevertheless, my favorite season is upon us yet again. Not to mention my 26th birthday is in 7 whole days, I mean where did the time go exactly?! I feel like I was JUST here sharing everything leading up to age 25 and it’s already coming to an end. It’s really bittersweet, but I am so thankful to God that I am approaching 26 much differently than I approached 25. And 25 was a blessing in itself. But enough pre-birthday talk, we will save that for later!
Back to spring! It’s definitely what I’m referring to as “set season”. Two-piece matching print and/or stripe sets are sweeping stores these days and I am definitely here for it. This is one of those trends that I could lose myself in, I’ll look up and my entire Instagram feed is covered in sets. And I’m usually the one that avoids the “matchy matchy” looks, but I guess it’s different when it’s supposed to be paired together versus you just making it an outfit yourself, lol I don’t know I can’t explain it but I’m sure you guys can relate.
Now this set wasn’t one of my fab finds for the low, but it is definitely a gem. And it wasn’t hard to find. And speaking of gems, these heels? Official spring favorites already. The classic two-strap, single sole style in addition to the soft gold AND the square toe if you will had me sold at first site. And they were only $23! Aside from completing the look for your favorite spring set: these babies can be paired with high-waist distressed denim and a casual tee, a flowy dress or skirt, or even the perfect cocktail/dinner dress for an evening out. They’re a good color staple piece for your closet that can function versatilely.
I wanted this look to be the first debut into my spring wardrobe, for obvious reasons if you couldn’t tell. But aside from the color and print of the style, I liked it’s functionality. For instance, the top does indeed have a button and can be worn as a shirt, but it also could be worn open as a blazer with a tank or blouse underneath. And yall know I like functional clothing.
So I don’t know about you guys but aside from the season itself, I am TOO excited about the trends this spring. Be sure to stay tuned this season as I share my favorite trends and looks.
