I’m just poppin in on this fine Thursday to share last Friday’s date night look, with just a closer look at it’s details. Now Friday night is for sure date night, sometimes more casual and other times a tad more dressy depending on the setting. And there have been plenty of looks that I have worn, but haven’t really posted any of their details here. After getting quite a few requests on the regular to share my date night looks here on the blog, I decided to start with this most recent fav. Take a look at a few new favorites of mine! Starting with this top.. .

This look is actually one of my favorite date night looks this summer for sure, mainly because of this top. And fun fact, I learned earlier this year that this rust color is definitely a gem this season. It caught my eye while I was standing in line purchasing some other items. It was the color that initially caught my eye, but it’s price made me snag it. I love love love it’s back detailing, super chic and trendy for the summertime. The only part of this top that I wasn’t a huge fan of was, although it is ribbed, I wasn’t it’s thicker knit material. Especially in this Texas heat. But the back detail made me quickly move past that flaw.

I liked the idea of styling this top with dark denim jeans for sure, I actually caught these on sale at the same store for $20 like a week before. However this rust colored top would for sure look great with light washed denim as well. My go to is typically a lighter to medium wash, so I was happy to add a pair of darker denim to my wardobe. I tend to keep it simple of course, but this top would also look great with the linen shorts from my neutral linen post. Add cognac brown sandals for a more casual weekend look.

Completing this look with a contrasting pair of heels is by far my favorite part of this look. And with both the translucent and snakeskin trends taking over the heels world, I thought these would be perfect to complement the look. Plus, I love wearing heels on date night since that’s really the only chance I get to pull them out of the closet, aside from church. This pair just so happened to be my favorite style of heels as well [in terms of how the straps cross on the ankle and above the heel] so the clear and snakeskin combo on them was an added plus! I know some of you are over the snakeskin trend, but I’m actually still feeling it. I’ll be styling these babes throughout the rest of the summer and even into early fall.

Just for fun, I thought I’d share the top places I love to go to for date nights [when it’s not a Texas Roadhouse night LOL] Here is a small list of some of my fav date night spots here in Dallas: […and when I say spots I mean restaurants because that’s mainly what I like to do for date night 😊]

  1. Moxie’s Bar & Grill
  2. Matchbox
  3. Maggiano’s
  4. Del Frisco’s Grille
  5. Yard House
  6. RA Sushi
  7. Benihana

Although this was a more simpler approach to a date night look, I feel like I tied in some key trends for you guys. I’ll definitely keep the date night looks coming though since y’all tend to ask for them often. Maybe I’ll make it a reoccurring series here? Let me know if you’d be a fan of that in the comments. And I promise to get some couples date night looks up as well! Happy almost Friday everyone, it’s almost time for date night again! 😉
