Well the Christmas countdown continues, were officially 5 days away from Christmas and it honestly doesn’t even feel like it. I haven’t done any Christmas shopping, and there are only approximately 10 ornaments hanging on my tree. I haven’t found the time or energy to finish it yet LOL, BUT at least it’s up! This season honestly just crept up on me, and it’s quickly sliding on by. I was happy that I was able to do at least one festive thing for the season, like visiting the Holly Jolly Pop Up in the Deep Ellum area here in Dallas. It was a unique Christmas set up of two floors with different Christmas themed rooms and areas. Such as a room with wrapped gifts, bows on the walls and hanging from the ceiling, and an area with giant candy canes and coordinating wall paper. It allowed me to capture these cute photos for this blog post! December has kept my prettyyy busy and I honestly hadn’t had time to get out and take fun Christmas inspired photos like I had hoped. Thankfully this cute pop up took one thing off of my to-do list!
I wanted to wear something equally as festive to complement the décor and occasion. I first spotted this dress on the mannequin in the window during “a quick run in and out” trip to the mall. My friend was going to a Christmas party and asked me for assistance with finding a red ensemble for her company Christmas party. This dress quickly came to mind, I told her to style it with a chunky black belt and black booties. She loved it, and so did I LOL. So much that I went and bought the dress myself a couple of days later. And for only $20 at one of my favorite stores!
I switched mine up a bit, adding the gold chain belt instead. A closeup of this dress would show you that it’s actually a snakeskin textured fabrication, which made me love it even more! It’s the perfect simple and classy holiday dress, a great price and functional for various occasions. It’s a great tea length for booties, and even if you’re a shorty like me it’s still a great length. An additional plus, it’s both a bright and festive color! Andddd it just so happens that my man loves me in the color red! ☺️
Ya’ll care to know what’s on my Christmas list? Actually the further I get into this adulting life, I want to just send everyone a list of my bills and their amounts, that’s the perfect Christmas gift for me LOL. But I will share my mini wish list as it relates to fashion. I’ve been eyeballing white booties for the season, they’re definitely a hot trend and I think I’ll get pretty good use of them. Next, not sure if you guys have seen the seamless suede trench coat trend that has been circulating this season, but I am loving it. I came across this [click the link] fabulous trench coat but I hadn’t added it to my wardrobe just yet. Welllll I’m thankful that I didn’t because now it’s on sale for 50% off!! Merry Christmas to myself haha! I’ve also been eyeing a new chain strap Tory Burch shoulder bag in a winter pop of color. I bought myself a simple one last Christmas, so I’m ready for one that’s a little more outside of the box for the winter season. Lastly, I’m ready for a pair of winter Vans [as if I need another pair at all]. I’m honestly content with the classic pairs that I own, I’m just ready for another pop of color pair as well. Or even a pair of Nike Air Max, I love cute yet casual sneakers. Since getting older and being into purchasing more heels, I neglected my sneakers collection more than usual. However, I predict “Santa” may be leaving a new pair of sneakers for me under the tree this year… .
Whether you’re flying out of state, or driving up the street… I’m praying that you all have a safe, enjoyable and very Merry Christmas. Hold your loved ones a little tighter and make the best of this season, life is so short. It is so unsettling for me when death and tragedy strikes around the holidays, my heart is a little heavy for many this year. So I am sending special prayers to those who have or grieving in whatever way this Christmas. Drop a heart or comment if you’d like me to pray for you and your family. I’m traveling out of the state myself early Saturday, spending my first Christmas away from my family actually. However, I’m embracing God’s plan for my life, who He’s placed in it and I’m pretty excited about it! I’ll be back next week with my last post of the year 2018, can you believe it?!
Merry Christmas from KriStyles & Seven Days In Style! ❤️
