One trend that is really on the move this season is linen. Now linen is no stranger to anyone, of course. It’s been a circulating trend for decades. I happen to be super excited about it’s current rise, or return to the scene I should say, this season. I’m seeing it everywhere, for both men and women! Skirts, shorts, and even suits! It’s the perfect neutral staple, looks great with bright whites, stripes and pops of soft color. I chose to style mine in a classic and easy way, of course.

Seersucker is also a trend that hasn’t quite left the scene either. Feel free to refer to my last spring’s seersucker blog here . It was something about this top that made me immediately think to pair it with linen. Although this top is long sleeve, it’s very lightweight and great for shorts or a skirt this season. I even envision myself pairing it with jeans for a pre-fall look.

A key detailed part of these shorts is that they’re actually high-waisted with a tie belt, which I removed for this look. I felt the low tie detail on the top would clash with the tied belt. However, another way to style these shorts [which I didn’t show] would be with a tucked in fitted tank [white, black, or even rust colored] or even a classic neutral colored v-neck with a pop of color shoe. These linen shorts are also super lightweight, and a great staple pair of neutral shorts. I guarantee linen bottoms in general will forever circulate around the fashion world. Linen is what I’d like to consider one of the summer essentials.

The two of these created a look that gave me, I don’t know…boat vibes, right? Although I was quite far from a boat in these photos. But it’s a casual, simplistic look that’s great for a day out, lunch date, boat party, and even a beach vacation. You can dress it down with sandals like I did, I chose this pair of staple sandals in a classic yet neutral color. Cognac/Camel brown as well as red or white would’ve also looked great with this look. I’d hope this classic pair of sandals would at least last for 2 summers, just a thought. You can also dress it up with strappy heels or summer wedges. I also envision a cute straw bag with this look, I’ve gotta get my hands on one for the summer.

Now that I think about it, I have a couple more linen pieces I’ve already added to my wardrobe for this season that I am excited to style. If I don’t feature them here they’ll for sure be featured on my Instagram. I’m looking forward to the many ways I’ll style linen even more this summer. And a word to the guys, linen isn’t just for the ladies! If you enjoyed this post, please like it, comment on it or share with someone you think may find it useful! Happy Wedneslay guys!
