Hello from the Dallas Design District! This past Saturday, which just so happened to be Cinco de Mayo, I decided to have a little fun in this area. For those of you who may not know, the Design District is near downtown and happens to be infamous for colored brick walls as well as the cutest galleries and shops. I like to explore throughout the area and sort of make it my own, leave my sevendaysinstyle mark on it ya know. I wanted to sample this look in front of various backgrounds and colors, it’s dainty style deserved more than just a floral backdrop or coffee shop scenery. So that’s exactly what I did.
What a deceiving little ensemble this just so happens to be. Now this print may look like your typical striped, or pinstripe, variation..it’s not. It may even look like it’s a jumpsuit….it’s not. It’s actually a fabric called seersucker, thanks to my Textiles class in college that has now shown itself actually useful. This is also a two-piece set, crop top and pants separates. I just happen to have a short torso, fun fact, so the two look connected.
This look was kind of 1960’s inspired in it’s own way, which of course we all know fashion simply repeats itself.
This wall brought in the “Cinco de Mayo” of all of this! See how it matches my nail color perfectly? That definitely wasn’t planned. But it turned out to be such a bold wall that I really enjoyed shooting with this look. Overall, I think that it complemented the look very well. See more angles below!
I definitely will be sharing any cool places for photoshoots that I come across or discover all summer long. If you know me, you know that one of my favorite pass times is scoping cities and their surrounding areas.
